Having spent decades involved in the Fashion Industry, as a womenswear designer and then as design tutor and course director of the fashion department in LSAD, Limerick School of Art and Design, LIT, Ireland, I am currently exploring my passion for fashion illustration and textile wall art.
I also continue to be really excited not only about fashion design, but design in all it manifestations, particularly in sustainable and ethical design. Due to a nasty accident in 2009, I had to accept early retirement, as my left elbow and arm are permanently damaged and I’m recovering from CRPS [ Complex Regional Pain Syndrome].
This unforeseen change in my career has allowed me the time to indulge in my love of fashion illustration and also continue to enjoy playing with colour and textures in my textile art work. So silver lining!
